Tuesday Top Five: Games to Play with Balls

March 31, 2009

When I finally rounded up all the balls scattering our backyard the other day, I realized that we had amassed quite a collection. Soccer balls, whiffle balls, bouncy balls -- you name it, we've got at least one. Truth is, my kids play with all of them, and those balls have been the center of some great family afternoons together. If you and your kids need some new ideas for games to play with balls, draw some inspiration from this list! If the kids are looking for something beyond the kiddie pool or the slip and slide, try out some of these ideas for backyard fun! 1. Celebrating the Seasons: Summer Solstice

June 19, 2008

The summer solstice happens tomorrow, Friday, June 20 -- which means that if it feels like a long day, it actually IS. According to the local report, the sun will rise on Friday at 6:12 am and set at 8:31 pm, which means there will be over 14 hours of light in which to play that day! (And if your kids are anything like mine, you'll be up with them at the crack of dawn and begging them to go to  Read more...
